The Carleton Place Public Library is creating a Friends of the Library group, and we are looking for enthusiastic library lovers to help us get it started!

What is a Friends of the Library? A Friends group is a community based volunteer group that can perform many functions, including advocating for the library and its services, promoting the library within the community, and fundraising.

Join us on Monday, January 19, 2026 for a drop-in information session about launching a Friends of the Library group. To accommodate different schedules, two sessions will be run: one at 1:00 p.m. and the other 7:00 p.m., both in the Barbara Walsh Room at the Carleton Place Public Library. Barb Carroll, Chair of the Friends of the Mississippi Mills Public Library, will be on hand to share experiences and answer questions. Learn what a Friends group is, what it does, and how you can get involved. Refreshments will be provided. No registration required.

We hope you can join us!
